They cut off part of it to use as pads and some of them are using their extra clothes as pads.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Using unclean materials as sanitary products can cause a risk of infection and potentially deadly toxic shock syndrome.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Ingram added: &#8220;Seeing newborn babies suffer while some mothers bleed to death should keep us all awake at night.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Women and girls have made up roughly 70% of the 25,000 people killed in Gaza since 7 October, according to the Hamas-run health ministry.<\/p>\n<div class=\"sdc-article-widget sdc-article-image\">\n<figure class=\"sdc-article-image__figure\">\n<div class=\"sdc-article-image__wrapper\" data-aspect-ratio=\"16\/9\"><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Read more:<br \/>Netanyahu rejects calls for Palestinian state<br \/>Who are the key leaders of Hamas?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One ActionAid Palestine worker, who asked to remain anonymous, added: &#8220;There was no water available for me to get clean during my period.
