Under the truce, a total of 150 Palestinian prisoners and 50 captives held in Gaza are to be released over four days.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Israel has released 39 women and children prisoners after Hamas freed 13 civilian captives in exchange under a Qatar-mediated deal that includes a four-day truce in Gaza.<\/p>\n Hundreds of Palestinians had gathered in anticipation on Friday outside the Ofer prison, where Israel had transferred those who were to be released, while others congregated in Palestinian towns.<\/p>\n At 8pm local time (18:00 GMT), two International Committee of the Red Cross buses were seen leaving Ofer.<\/p>\n According to the AFP news agency, 28 prisoners were released in the occupied West Bank, and 11 others were brought to East Jerusalem, according to the Palestinian Prisoners\u2019 Club NGO.<\/p>\n Marah Joudat Moussa Bakeer, who was among those released in Jerusalem, said prison officials had informed her earlier this week about a \u201cdeal\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cI expected a deal but I had no idea that there was an ongoing war. On Wednesday, they released me from my cell and informed me about a deal but did not give me any more details,\u201d she told reporters near her home in Jerusalem.<\/p>\n Bakeer was released after eight years in prison, where she was recently moved to solitary confinement, she said.<\/p>\n \u201cI am very happy I have been released, but it\u2019s heartbreaking that we are doing it at the expense of many thousands who are being killed,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n Feride Najeh, who was among the prisoners released in Beitunia, told Al Jazeera that she was \u201cvery happy\u201d with the deal.<\/p>\n \u201cWe haven\u2019t eaten anything since this morning,\u201d Najeh, who was serving a three-year sentence, said. \u201cThey took us in a violent way and they did not let us take our stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI am very happy with this deal. I would like to thank Gazan people for their resistance.\u201d<\/p>\n Thirteen Israeli captives, including dual nationals, have been released under the Israel-Hamas deal.\u00a0 At least 10 Thai nationals and one Filipino were released under a different framework, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, which mediated the separate deal.
